Cancellation Policy

It is the policy of this practice that patients advise us of their inability to attend an appointment at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled appointment by phone. This enables us to give others on the waiting list the opportunity to take up the cancellation. It is understandable that situations may arise which may make attendance difficult and at all times we are able to accommodate these changes if patients ring us with sufficient notice.

Non attendance letters will be sent to patients advising them of the cancellation policy upon the non attendance of their scheduled appointment. Further non attendance of scheduled appointments, will result in all future appointments requiring a credit card guarantee at the time of making the appointment, (written notification of this requirement will be sent). Non attendance of these appointments without notification will result in a non attendance fee, equivalent to the cost of a standard consultation, being charged to the credit card.

Continued non attendance may result in no further appointments being taken.

Emergencies

This surgery operates a triage system. Patients requiring urgent medical attention will take precedence over all patients in the waiting room. Reception staff will endeavour to make all waiting patients aware of the delay to their appointments. We ask for your understanding should this situation arise.

Consultations

A standard consultation with one of our doctors is 10 minutes. If you feel you need to be seen urgently please let our receptionist know, we always make openings for emergencies. Sick children are always seen as a priority. Longer Appointments.

If you require a longer appointment please let our staff know. Also if more than one member of your family require to be seen please make an appointment for each of them to ensure enough time is allocated.

We are aware that nobody likes to wait so we work hard to adhere to our appointment schedule. However, due to the unpredictable nature of medical care our doctors may occassionally run late.The reasons for delays are usually emergency patients that need to be seen as a priority. To also assist us in minimising waiting periods if you are not able to attend your appointment please ring our staff straight away as there will be someone else who is requiring one.

We have a large waiting area, that is also a play area for children and babies.
